The life
He left France for Saint-Domingue in 1772 and died there. Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin and Jean-Baptiste Willermoz were among the students marked by his teaching.
Place in the tradition
The doctrine of reintegration — that creation has fallen from an original divine condition and that spiritual work aims at return — runs from here into Martinism and beyond.
