Gabriel

גבריאל

Also written Gavriel and Gabri'el.

Gabriel interprets visions in Daniel and becomes a commanding presence in Jewish, Christian and Islamic tradition. Renaissance Hermetic magic joins him to the Moon, and the Hermetic Tree places him in lunar Yesod.

Daniel names Gabriel but does not call him an archangel. That classification and the lunar/Yesod correspondence belong to later traditions and are recorded separately.
