Magical weapons
A magical 'weapon' is a named ritual implement. Four of the items below form a fire–water–air–earth set in Golden Dawn manuscripts; the others have their own uses in other texts and no fixed element here.
- Golden Dawn · Fire Fire Wand The Golden Dawn's dedicated Fire implement: a scarlet, magnet-cored wand marked in yellow and emerald green and used for work the order classifies as fiery.
- Golden Dawn · Water Water Cup The Golden Dawn's Water implement: a clear, crocus-shaped cup with eight blue petals edged and lettered in complementary orange.
- Golden Dawn · Air Air Dagger The Golden Dawn's Air implement: a short blade with a bright-yellow hilt and violet or purple names, sigils, and motto.
- Golden Dawn · Earth Earth Pentacle The Golden Dawn's Earth implement: a two-sided wooden disc quartered in citrine, olive, russet, and black beneath a white hexagram and border.
- Golden Dawn Magic Sword A scarlet-and-emerald sword of Mars and Geburah, used for forceful banishing and defence and kept distinct from the yellow Air Dagger.
- Golden Dawn Lotus Wand The Golden Dawn adept's general-purpose wand, banded with the twelve zodiacal colours between white and black ends and crowned by a twenty-six-petalled lotus.
- Key of Solomon Black-hilt knife The circle-making knife of the Key of Solomon's Book II, separately prepared and stored from its white-hilt counterpart.
- Key of Solomon White-hilt knife The Key of Solomon's general working knife, usable for the book's operations except for drawing the circles.
- Key of Solomon Quill knife The artavus: originally a small scribe's knife for shaping quills, and in the circle chapter the centre peg for a measuring cord.
- Key of Solomon Solomonic sword A newly prepared, inscribed sword used for protection in the book's operations and, in the circle chapter, for marking boundaries.
- Key of Solomon Short lance A small spear or pointed tracing tool included with the Key's Mercury-made instruments.
- Key of Solomon Solomonic wand A hazel rod, present in some witnesses and absent in others, prepared for directing addresses and touching ritual figures.
- Key of Solomon Staff An elder- or cane-rod paired with the wand in some Key of Solomon manuscripts, but omitted altogether in others.
- Key of Solomon Iron pen A metal stylus for incising the names, characters, and candle marks required by Book II.
- Key of Solomon Trumpet A newly made wooden trumpet sounded in a fixed circuit through the four quarters before the calling begins.
- Crowley, Book 4 Scourge, Dagger, and Chain A three-part disciplinary set arranged around the holy oil and read as Sulphur, Mercury, and Salt.
- Crowley, Book 4 Book 4 Wand The principal weapon of Book 4: directed will, wisdom, speech, and the magical oath made concrete.
- Crowley, Book 4 Book 4 Sword The weapon of analytical reason: a steel blade with copper hilt and back-to-back lunar crescents on the guard.
