The spreads
Five ways of laying out the cards, from a single answer to the long arc of the Celtic Cross. Each spread explains the work of its positions and what is known of its history.
-
One card
One card, for one question. The whole pack is shuffled and the top card taken.
-
Past, present, future
Three cards for the shape of a thing over time: where it came from, where it stands, and where it is heading.
-
The horseshoe
Seven cards in an arc, from what is past on the left to the outcome on the right, with the querent and those around them in the middle.
-
The Celtic Cross
Ten cards for a definite question: six form a cross around the matter, while four rise at the right to show the querent's place in it and where it leads.
-
The Tree of Life
One card rests on each sephirah. Read from Kether to Malkuth, the spread follows the descent of emanation; read as a whole, it lets every sphere speak to the question.
