The four Tens

Book T places this four-card family in Malkuth. The shared number describes a stage of force; Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles show how that stage changes when expressed through Fire, Water, Air and Earth.

The Tens bring the suit to its material limit. The process has become fixed in a final form, whether that culmination is welcome or hard to bear.

Book T classifies the Tens under Malkuth and calls them ultimating force: the point at which the suit's process becomes fully determined.

Wands Ten of Wands Ten of Wands: success or responsibility becoming oppressive through excess. The card joins the fire nature of Wands to its place in the numbered sequence. Cups Ten of Cups Ten of Cups: emotional fulfilment shared through family and community. The card joins the water nature of Cups to its place in the numbered sequence. Swords Ten of Swords Ten of Swords: an exhausted conflict reaching an unmistakable ending. The card joins the air nature of Swords to its place in the numbered sequence. Disks Ten of Disks Ten of Pentacles: wealth understood as inheritance, household and continuity. The card joins the earth nature of Pentacles to its place in the numbered sequence.
